Head - Credit Risk
Raymond Akakpo is the Head of Credit Risk in the Faculty;he reports directly to the Director of Studies and Training of the College.
Raymond is a holder of BSc. Degree in Financial Services from the University of Manchester and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), UK. The courses attended are wide-ranging and cover, Treasury, Credit Risk Analysis, Relationship Management, Trade Finance, Management Development, etc. Raymond is also a designated Credit Risk Analyst and Trade Finance Expert;he holds certification from Omega Training (USA) to that effect.
Raymond Akakpo is a career Banker with more than 36 years of industry and training experience. Fifteen(15) years of these were spent working for Ghana Commercial Bank and 14 years with Standard Chartered Bank. Units where he worked in both Banks include Corporate Banking, Credit Risk, Foreign Operations, Branch Operations, Treasury and Learning & Talent Development.
Raymond was a lecturer and Examiner in the Lending subject for the Chartered Institute of Bankers Ghana for 13 years. Additionally, between 2002 and 2006, Raymond worked as a training resource for the Wholesale Banking Division for Standard Chartered Bank Africa franchise, conducting training in all the African countries where the Bank was represented and in Asia.
In 2010, Raymond exited Standard Chartered Bank to set up a private consultancy firm.His areas of expertise include: Credit Risk Management, International Trade Finance, Agricultural Value Chain Finance and Managerial Effectiveness/ Personal Development.
