Corporate Profile

The National Banking College is a professional training Institution with the focus to serve as a centre of excellent financial services education. The college was established in 1994 as the first specialized professional training institution for bankers and financial services professionals.

The college has consistently honed the technical and managerial skills of financial sector professionals. Thus, establishing itself as the premier financial service training and research institution in Ghana and within the West Africa sub-region.

The College is an autonomous body limited by guarantee and founded by the Bank of Ghana . Its membership is made up of all Bank of Ghana licensed banks. NBC executes its mandate with a faculty made up of individuals with practical industry experience, solid academic and professional background.

Governance

To disseminate information on banking, financial and managerial know-how by undertaking and providing for the publication of journals, reports, pamphlets and other literature and research papers and books in furtherance of the object
to award degrees, diplomas, certificates and other distinctions and to confer degrees on candidates and prescribed standards of proficiency for the award of such diplomas, certificates, degrees and other distinctions and to confer honorary awards and other distinctions.

Mandate & Objectives

To plan, promote and provide for education and training in operations and management of banking and financial institutions and to undertake, organise and facilitate conferences, Seminars, Study Courses, Lectures and Similar Other Activities for the purpose
To promote and conduct research in matters pertaining to the improvement of banking operations & the education training and development of personnel of banking and financial institutions
To maintain liaison with banking and financial institutions and educational bodies for purposes of promoting education and training of personnel of banking and financial institutions.
To provide consultancy services under its auspices or through its faculty to banks or any other institutions or individuals on matters having a bearing on productivity in banking services, optimum use of financial resources or any other matter conducive to economic betterment.
