Dr. Stephen Antwi is the Director of Studies and Training at the National Banking College(NBC). He has the responsibility of Leading, Managing, Monitoring and Controlling Quality Programmes run by National Banking College for Banks, Savings and Loans, Rural Banks, Microfinance Institutions, Finance Houses and other Financial Institutions in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa. He reports to the Principal of the College.
Dr Antwi Is an Economist, a Banker and a Lecturer. He is also an International Motivational Speaker. He has more than 19 years of work experience in Banking and Lecturing, with 14 years in various management positions. Dr. Antwi worked at GCB Bank Limited for 8 years (2001 to 2009) as well as in Rural Banking and a few Saving and Loans Institutions. His expertise is in the area of Banking Operations, Credit Delivery and Risk Analysis. He has held various positions such as Deputy Managing Director, in charge of Operations and Credit, Area Manager in charge of cluster of branches, Branch Manager and Branch Operations Manager.
Prior to joining National Banking College, Dr. Antwi was the Acting Head of Economics and Finance Department at the Ghana Baptist University College, Kumasi. He Lectured in Managerial Economics, Econometrics and Quantitative Analysis at the MBA Level, and in Credit Management, Venture Capital, and Banking Law at the Undergraduate Level. He was also a Part-Time Lecturer in Microeconomics and Public Finance at the University of Ghana (Distance Learning) in Kumasi.
Dr. Stephen Antwi has several journal publications in Economics and Finance and Motivational Books to his credit. He has recently been adjudged the Best Lecturer in 2018/19 at the Ghana Baptist University in Kumasi.
Dr Antwi holds a PhD., MPhil in Agricultural Economics, an MSc in Economics, an MBA in Finance, BA in Economics, and a Diploma in Education. Additionally, Dr Antwi is also Member of Chartered Institute of Bankers.
