Understanding Ghanaian Labor Laws for Line Managers in Banks(May 2-3) Virtual

  • 9:00am
  • National Banking College

Background

Observing from a distance, one may see HR as basically a relationship building and management process at the workplace with a view to motivating employees to give of their best and thereby ensuring productivity and prosperity of the enterprise.

Incidentally, the people Management function is the one area of Management that requires a high level of fairness, equity, and justice. Precedence matters, just as the need to maintain rare skills in whom special investment might have been made. It is a balancing act that requires a high level of tact and common sense as well as the application of legal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
In order to be seen to be fair to all, HR Practitioners tend to take refuge in Policies, Procedures, Rules, Regulations and Codes at the enterprise level. Beyond that, HR practitioners require a sound understanding of the Laws that regulate the relationship between the employer and the employee in the employment contract.

Again, and perhaps more importantly, the Employer/Employee relationship is a contractual one that requires that both parties observe the terms and conditions of the employment contract. It is against this background that this 2 – Day Program has been designed to take Line Managers through the Legal Aspects of Human Resource Management.
