Background


There are several factors which make a loan non-performing. Whilst some of these may be external in nature, others may be internal. If a loan starts exhibiting signs of stress, it requires exemplary skills to bring a delinquent loan back on track.

This course equips you with the needed negotiation and technical skills to handle difficult accounts such that the solution proffered is a win-win for bank and the borrower.

Programme Objectives


  • Identify typical warning signs exhibited by a corporate borrower
  • Effectively engage with the client in identifying festering problems and the causal effect on account performance
  • Proffer solutions on the way forward and be able to get the cooperation of the borrower.
  • Enhance the lender’s negotiation skills to get the best out of the restructuring for the Bank without necessarily compromising the relationship.
  • Be guided by ethics of credit and ensure the bank’s interest and the borrower’s is protected at all times.
