Leveraging Emotional Intelligence for Business Success in Banking(May 22-24) Virtual

  • 9:00am
  • National Banking College

Background

Emotion, we are told, is a Greek word meaning “move through or move out’. As humans, we constantly experience feelings and sensations as we interact and relate to others. These emotions can be positive or negative and can affect our relations with team members, particularly at the workplace.
As supervisors, the way we relate to subordinates influences their thinking, behaviour, attitude, and ambition. Zig Ziglar is on record to have said “A lot of people have gone farther than they thought they could because someone else thought they could”.

Again, it is often said that “people don’t quit their jobs, instead they quit their bosses”. To be able to hold together and achieve organizational success, both the Supervisor and the Subordinate must first know themselves as individuals and then know each other. With that awareness they can bond better and work with mutual respect and goodwill towards achievement of organizational goals, bearing in mind each other’s peculiar emotional needs and ambitions.

It is against this background that this 2 – Day Program has been put together to help manage emotions better at the workplace.
