Background
Programme Objectives
- Appreciate the importance of standards in Auditing and the Audit process.
- Provide assurance that, the necessary IT Governance structures and processes are in place to achieve technology and corporate goals.
- Understand the role of the IT Auditor in Project Management and identifying project failure red flags.
- Provide assurance that the Information systems operations, maintenance, and support are adequate to meet organisations strategies and goals as well as regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate the risks arising from the use of new technologies (BYOD, Cloud Computing, etc.)
- Identify and control risks in the deployment and use of Alternate Delivery Channels such as Payment Platforms, Internet banking, ATMs, POSes
- Assess the adequacy of controls to ensure Business Continuity and Recovery in cases of disaster.
- Identify and address potential improvement areas in general IT controls.
